Location: This post holder can be hosted remotely, with the option for flexible working, and will be required to work across Scotland.
Salary: £34,842 - £40,977 p/a (pro-rata)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced policy professional or professional with significant senior experience in either health or social care to join Health and Social Care Scotland. 

Working with the chair, vice-chair and members of the executive of the Integration Joint Board (IJB) Chair and Vice-Chair Network, the main function is to co-ordinate and develop the network and support their approach to influencing national policy.

The post will sit as part of a wider policy team which supports Health and Social Care Scotland. The postholder will be expected to work closely with the team to ensure strategic alignment, and to drive the ambition and intent of health and social care integration. This will require thinking and planning at a strategic level. This post will involve close working with Scottish Government, in particular the Directorate of Health and Social Care Integration.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure the executive group of the IJB Chair and Vice Chair Network is supported to meet its remit
  • Support the development and direction of the IJB Chair and Vice Chair Network as a whole group and represent their views
  • Liaise on behalf of the IJB Executive Group with national and local bodies, as determined by the executive
  • Liaise on behalf of the IJB Executive Group with Scottish Government
  • Undertake relevant research, briefings, responses to consultations, as agreed with the executive
  • Coordinate, plan and organise routine sessions of the network each year, and be the contact point for contributions to relevant national conferences
  • Support training, development and induction for members of IJB Chair and Vice Chair Network, as agreed

The post will be hosted in a local Health and Social Care Partnership. The successful candidate will be expected to work with minimum supervision, exercising initiative and proven skills in liaising, organising and negotiating. The administrative base for this post is in central Glasgow but the successful candidate will be required, at times, to work across Scotland.
